Constructed by the Inca Empire in the 15th century, this colossal complex features three-tiered zigzag walls built from some of the largest megalithic blocks ever used in the ancient world. Some of these stones stand over 8 meters tall and weigh upwards of 125 metric tons.

Local legends speak of a mysterious plant extract that could soften stone, making it easy to mold. However, modern archaeologists believe it was a feat of relentless, highly organized human labor.
